- However the Sparkling Gold product is only available in Germany for now
- There are ways to make your own fizz at home though

SodaStream has endured a naff reputation as an irrelevant retro gadget for the last few years.
But it could soon be in for an image change as more and more people cotton to the fact you can make your own Prosecco-style sparkling wine using the device.
SodaStream has now cashed in on the trend, and has launched a Sparkling Gold 'alcoholic concentrate' that will turn water into fizzy wine.
Unfortunately the 'alcoholic concentrate' is only available in Germany - but those in the know can still use the gadget to create boozy cocktails and sparkling wine without the official product.
SodaStream is launching an alcoholic concentrate called Sparkling Gold in Germany but there are other ways to make your own sparkling wine at home using the gadget
The Sparkling Gold concentrate is sold in a gold 200ml bottle and contains enough to serve 12 people when mixing one part of the concentrate to five parts water.
It will apparently have the taste of a 'fruity Riesling wine' and will be 10 per cent ABV.
It's not yet clear if the product will make its way to the UK or US but you can cheat the system by making your own version of sparkling wine using the gadget anyway.
Simply pour in a medium quality white wine into a SodaStream, fire up the machine, and you will have a sparkling wine that tastes like a decent bottle of Prosecco or Champagne.
It could work out cheaper than buying a real bottle of Champagne, which often cost between £20 and £30, as shoppers can pick up a decent bottle of white wine for between £7 and £10.
It's better to opt for a plastic SodaStream than a glass one if you want to make your own alcoholic fizzy beverages at home, experts say, as they can break
However experts say it works best with plastic SodaStream models and that DIYers shouldn't fill the machine to the top, as the bubbly will need space to fizz up.
Some SodaStream tricksters have also discovered you can make fizzy cocktails in the machine as well.
VinePair says you can create a number of different creations using the gadget, such as a bourbon fizzy lemonade which requires you to combine lemon juice, water, stevia and whisky the device, and carbonate.
You can also make your own fizzy Cosmopolitan or a margarita fizz by combining a margarita fizz mix, grapefruit juice and tequila in one of the gadgets.
